IsleConnect exists for island residents, families new to mainland life, and anyone navigating isolation. We foster community, share practical resources, and provide human support so no island voice goes unheard.
Weekly calls and in-person visits for island residents living alone or far from family.
Orientation sessions helping you navigate Dublin services, transport, and civic life.
Moving from an island to the mainland can be disorienting — even when Dublin is just a ferry ride away. Our community integration programs provide a genuine social scaffold for island commuters, families newly relocated, and residents who need a reliable hand navigating local life.
Peer-matching connects newcomers with established residents who understand the island-to-city transition firsthand.
We walk with you through healthcare registration, housing entitlements, transport links, and benefits access.
From local sporting clubs to civic forums — we open doors so island residents can fully participate in Dublin community life.
Island identity is rich, layered, and irreplaceable. Our cultural exchange initiatives and heritage workshops bring island history to life — preserving traditions while building understanding across generations, schools, and communities.
"We work with heritage museums, tourism partners, and intergenerational groups to ensure authentic island culture is never a footnote — it's the headline."
Elders share memories, songs, and crafts from island life — captured for future generations through community archives.
Basket weaving, currach building, and traditional textile arts — skills passed down and kept alive through hands-on practice.
We bring island history directly into classrooms — curriculum-linked, age-appropriate, and deeply engaging for students across Dublin.
We help island jobseekers, school leavers, and adults returning to work build confidence, find their footing, and secure real employment pathways in Dublin and beyond.
Practical, supportive sessions covering CV writing, application strategies, and workplace expectations — tailored for island jobseekers entering Dublin's job market.
One-to-one mock interviews with constructive feedback — building the confidence and clarity needed to stand out in any interview room.
Direct connections to Dublin employer partners offering apprenticeships and entry-level roles suited to island residents with diverse backgrounds and experience.
Group workshops addressing imposter syndrome, communication skills, and professional self-presentation for adults returning to work after time away.
From digital skills for older islanders to traditional craft sessions for youth groups — our educational workshops support participation, independence, and cultural continuity for island residents of every age and background.
Smartphones, online services, video calls — patient, step-by-step sessions that bridge the digital divide.
Weaving, woodcraft, cooking — hands-on sessions that reconnect islanders with heritage skills and new social bonds.
Confidence, creativity, and identity exploration for young island residents navigating life between two worlds.
Budgeting, cooking, health awareness, and independent living — practical skills that make a genuine daily difference.

Real outcomes. Real people. These are the voices behind our mission.
IsleConnect was founded by community workers who understood firsthand the invisible but very real friction of island life colliding with mainland systems. Based at Claddagh Quay in Dublin 8, we work daily with island residents — those still on their islands, those who've moved, and those living between two worlds.
We are a nonprofit organisation driven by values of dignity, belonging, cultural pride, and practical action. We don't offer hand-outs — we offer hands. Through community integration, heritage programs, social events, skills training, and employment support, we build the scaffolding that lets island people thrive in whatever context they find themselves.
To foster community, share resources, and provide genuine, lasting support for island residents — wherever their island journey has taken them.
We work with councils, schools, heritage groups, employers, and nonprofits to create connected, well-resourced services for island communities across Ireland.
Whether you're a resident seeking support, a family looking for connection, a volunteer wanting to help, or an organisation ready to collaborate — we'd love to hear from you.
